"This is a very simple, smooth recipe, and it makes lots. I make those for Christmas. Enjoy them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • three tablespoons ice water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • three/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • three tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar

Instructions :

  • If using butter it need to be bloodless. Mix butter with flour until it resembles first-class crumbs. Add white sugar, nuts, and salt. Mix nicely, adding ice water till you are making stiff dough.
  • Add vanilla extract and knead gently. Roll out on floured board 1/4 inch thick.
  • Cut into crescent shapes using a whiskey glass lined with flour.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) until bottoms are gently browned. While warm, roll in confectioner's sugar, (I generally use a brown bag or baggie bag to roll the cookies in with the powdered sugar).
